The sleeves arrive first. Gathered from a smooth three-quarter length into an abrupt, exaggerated puff at the elbow, massive, rounded, almost architectural, they transform the silhouette into a study in contrast. The body of the gown beneath is spare: a strict column in black mikado, the neckline cut straight and low, the hem touching the floor. At the back, a narrow slit releases the stride without disrupting the line.
