Engineered from multiple layers of black mikado folded and stitched into a wide, upright sculptural frame, it draws on the ceremonial neck adornments of Kalabari masquerade regalia while arriving at something wholly contemporary. The jacket beneath is tailored close to the torso, button-front closure, clean lapels, long sleeves, balancing the extravagance of the collar with a studied quietness everywhere else. Each piece is made to measure in San Diego and fulfilled individually to the client’s exact dimensions.
